Which content can we collect?
Approve access on Google
There's nothing to fill in. You'll approve read-only access on Google's own screen, and we read your channel details from there. AgileData never sees your password.
If your channel is a Brand Account, Google will ask which account to use. Choose the entry for your channel — not your personal email. Picking the wrong one connects an empty channel.

What this covers
This policy explains how AgileData collects, uses, and protects data when you use the AgileData Social Connect service to grant AgileData read-only access to the audience analytics for your YouTube channels, Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts.
Data we collect
We only collect data after you grant consent on the platform's own sign-in screen.
- Account information — the name, ID and profile image of each YouTube channel, Facebook Page or Instagram professional account you connect.
- Analytics data — views, reach, impressions, watch time, audience retention, engagement (likes, reactions, comments, shares, saves), follower counts, traffic sources, geography and audience demographics, retrieved from the YouTube Data and Analytics APIs and the Meta Graph API.
- Your content's metadata — titles, descriptions, captions, post types and publish dates of your videos and posts, used to identify funded content.
- Who authorised the connection — the name, email address and platform user ID of the person who signed in to grant access, where the platform provides them (Instagram sign-in does not provide an email address).
- Contact email — the address you confirm or enter for each connected account, and the address you were invited with, used only to contact you about your connections.
- Access credentials — the access or refresh tokens the platform issues to AgileData, stored encrypted.
We do not access your passwords, private messages, email, contacts, files, calendar, revenue or monetisation figures, ad spend, or the personal profiles of your audience. We cannot post, edit or delete anything on your accounts.
How we use your data
Your data is used solely to provide AgileData's analytics service — specifically to generate analytics dashboards and reports for the accounts you connect, for you and for the funding body that invited you. We use contact details only to tell you about your connections, for example when one needs reconnecting. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as strictly necessary to operate the service (for example, storing data in Google Cloud infrastructure).
Our use of data obtained through Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Our use of data obtained from Meta complies with the Meta Platform Terms.
YouTube API Services
AgileData uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel, you also agree to be bound by YouTube's Terms of Service. Google's Privacy Policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Facebook and Instagram
Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts are connected through Meta's own sign-in, where you choose which Pages and accounts to share. Meta's Privacy Policy is available at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Data retention
We retain your connections and analytics data while you are an active AgileData customer. If you remove AgileData's access on a platform, we delete the stored credentials for those connections as soon as the platform notifies us. If you request deletion, we delete the stored credentials and the personal details of the person who authorised the connection immediately, and any remaining associated data within 30 days.
Security
Access credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with keys managed by Google Cloud Secret Manager. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
Your rights
- Revoke access — at any time: YouTube at myaccount.google.com/permissions; Facebook under Settings → Business integrations; Instagram under Settings → Apps and websites.
- Request deletion — email support@agiledata.io, or for Facebook and Instagram, remove AgileData and choose to delete your data in the platform's settings. Meta-initiated requests receive a confirmation code you can check on our deletion status page.

Terms of Service

About these terms
These terms apply when you use AgileData Social Connect, a service run by AgileData.io Limited (NZBN 9429047486072), a New Zealand company ("AgileData", "we", "us"). By connecting an account through this service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The service
Social Connect lets you grant AgileData read-only access to the audience analytics for your YouTube channels, Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts. We use that access to produce analytics for you and for the organisation that invited you. There is no charge to you for using Social Connect.
Your responsibilities
- Authority — you may only connect accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and to grant analytics access for.
- Accurate details — the contact details you give us should be correct, so we can reach you about your connections.
- Platform terms — your use of each platform remains subject to its own terms, including YouTube's Terms of Service and Meta's Terms of Service.
What we will and won't do
We only read analytics and content details, as described in our Privacy Policy. We cannot post, edit or delete anything on your accounts, and we do not see your passwords.
Ending access
You can remove AgileData's access at any time in each platform's settings; see Your rights in the Privacy Policy. We may stop or suspend the service, or remove a connection, for example if the invitation is withdrawn, a platform withdraws our access, or the service is misused.
Availability
The service depends on the platforms' own systems, which can change or be unavailable. We provide Social Connect "as is" and do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, AgileData is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Social Connect. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under law that cannot be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date above shows when they last changed; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the courts of New Zealand have jurisdiction over any dispute.
